HOWARD BEHAR is a renowned business leader, author, speaker, and mentor. He served at the President of Starbucks for twenty-one years and became the founding President of Starbucks International, opening the very first store outside North America. Business Fable With Important Lessons on Leadership

Most business parables fall flat when brought out in book form. But Howard Behar, the longtime Starbucks executive who was part of that company’s “H2O” leadership team with Howard Schultz and Orin Smith, breaks that trend with his splendid “Magic Cup.” Relating the tale of how a new CEO takes over a well established (and something of a declining) company, Behar shares “11 Virtues” with readers which show the importance of businesses putting people first. While not for everyone, Behar’s fable is simple, fast paced and readable. Sometimes, readers will wish Behar was more subtle with his points but there are some important messages here on leadership and organizational management. Behar’s time at Starbucks was the stuff of legend and he’s still teaching important lesson. Highly recommended.
